
This self-paced, asynchronous course introduces students to the many career opportunities drones are unlocking across industries today. Learners will explore how drones are used in aerospace engineering, aviation, emergency response, film production, agriculture, and renewable energy. Along the way, they’ll gain an age-appropriate introduction to FAA Part 107 certification concepts, learn industry-standard safety habits, and practice using flight simulators before applying skills in real-world contexts. This is a self-paced course, so there are no live Zoom sessions. Parents will need to help their child set up accounts for any recommended platforms (e.g., Orqa flight simulator) and provide light supervision during any drone practice. All suggested platforms are COPPA-compliant, ensuring a safe online learning environment.
