♟ Weekly Open Chess Club (Ages 9–14)

This is a live, online enrichment class held once a week via Zoom through Outschool. Every instructor (including those at Mastering the Classroom) is background-checked. Players meet on Saturdays at 12:00 PM Mountain Time (U.S.). Practice and puzzles are hosted on ChessKid, a safe, COPPA-compliant platform. Students also gain ongoing access to ChessKid tournaments and community play, and can stay in the Club indefinitely as their skills grow.

Mastering the Classroom instructors combine educational experience and chess passion. Fully vetted via Outschool’s background check process, teachers encourage growth in strategic thinking, resilience, and confidence.

Students undergo a brief one-on-one identity check with the teacher before entering the group session. While instructors supervise the live meetings, parents are responsible for their child’s overall online behavior outside of class time. All practice and play happen via ChessKid, a COPPA-compliant platform designed for safe and monitored youth engagement.
